About the team:

The Data Solutions Team is part of Better Tracking Tribe at Bettermile. As a Backend Engineer in the Data Solutions team, you will work closely with our Data Analysts to build and refine data pipelines that feed into Machine Learning models, Decision Trees, and other prediction models. Your contributions will directly impact our data-driven decision-making and the development of new products. This role offers a great opportunity to shape our backend architecture while integrating with cutting-edge analytics and AI-powered solutions.

You will be taking care of

Implement features independently across the backend and database.
Proactively reach out to other teams, product owners, on-call engineers etc to sort out questions that arise during implementation.
Identify tasks that are large/complex already in the planning stage, to give feedback to product owners and adequately break them down into smaller pieces.
Contribute to strategic long term team decisions such as framework choices/architecture, with a focus on the business needs.
Support ongoing efforts on optimizing existing microservice architecture.
Ensure high-quality automated test coverage by proactively designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive test automation frameworks and scripts to enhance product reliability and performance.
Ensure that new features are implemented following clean code principles and industry best practices, while continuously improving and refining existing code to enhance maintainability and scalability.

You check these boxes

A robust background in software engineering, including a minimum of 3 years of backend experience.
Proficiency in backend technologies such as Kotlin/Java/Scala, Gradle or Maven, and the Spring Boot Framework.
Demonstrated project proficiency in API test tools and Git, showcasing your applied skills and experience in these technologies.
Experience with automated testing, utilizing tools like Cucumber to streamline testing processes.
Proficiency in Business English.

It is awesome if you also have

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment methodologies using tools such as GitHub Actions, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery.
Familiarity with AWS services, such as SNS, SQS, Eventbridge, ECS, Cloudwatch, indicating an understanding of cloud-based analytics and machine learning services.
